(Or possibly you like the pinching, who are we to judge?) There is nothing easier or more comfortable to tackle the problem with than a trusty old t-shirt. Here are a couple awesome Saint Patrick’s Day t-shirts for him her and the kids. This year, show off that St. Paddy’s Day pride!
The Luck Of The Irish
We would not have Saint Patrick’s Day to celebrate if it were not for the man himself. Patrick was a Roman citizen living in Britain in the late fourth century. Irish pirates captured him and took him to Ireland as a slave when he was a teenager. He soon escaped but, after devoting his life to the Catholic church, he returned as a missionary. There he began converting the inhabitants to Christianity. His work was so successful, with several schools and monasteries set up, that sometime after his death on March 17th, 432, the Cathodic Church declared him a Saint.
In Ireland, the day’s celebrations usually include feasts and religious services honoring St. Patrick. The wild celebrations most are familiar with began with Irish immigrants to the United States in the 18th and 19th centuries. As a result, outside of Ireland, it is now a day to celebrate all things Irish. Cities with large Irish descended populations compete with one another to produce the best display of Irish pride. The trappings of these new celebrations became so popular that blue, traditionally associated St. Patrick and his Day, with green.
